NUR Power’s role in Kulim Hi-Tech Park

KHTP is Malaysia’s first fully integrated high technology park and the country’s progressive leap into a more dynamic industrial economy focusing on capital intensive high-tech manufacturing, advanced technologies, and R&D activities. NUR Power’s primary function is to support and complement the Malaysian government’s objectives in this technology park, which is widely recognised by leading hi-tech international companies as among the finest of hi-tech parks in Asia.

Situated in an area in excess of 4,500 acres, KHTP came into being in 1996 and is now home to three out of four wafer fabrication plants in Malaysia and numerous multi-national conglomerates from North America, Europe, China, and Japan.

The Distribution Network

The KHTP area covers approximately 4,500 acres. The park’s policy is to attract industries in the electrical, electronic and semiconductor businesses to the park, particularly businesses that generally require electrical power of high quality, stable voltage, and reliable supply.

Our distribution system comprises four voltage levels: 132kV, 33kV, 11kV, and 0.4kV. The 132kV, 33kV, and 11kV networks come with N-2 and N-1 redundancy, which means failure in any supply feed to its voltage would not lead to any power interruption.

NUR Power has invested heavily in its distribution network grid redundancy to ensure reliable, perpetual, and uninterrupted supply of electrical power to all our customers.
