Internship (Generation)

Internship Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Available to commence internship by July 2025.
Able to commit to a full-time internship for a duration of six (6) months.
Must be willing to be based in Kulim Hi-Tech, Kedah.

Objective:

To gain experience and deepen understanding of combined-cycle power plant operations and maintenance while developing practical skills and industry knowledge in a power generation environment.

As an intern, you will be exposed to various systems and processes, including but not limited to:

Plant Process:

Distributed Control System
Gas Path
HRSG System
Condensate System
Chemistry and Water Treatment Plant
Air Cooled Condenser (ACC)
Steam Turbine

Plant Maintenance:

Gas Turbine and auxiliary
Steam Turbine and auxiliary
Electrical System
Instrumentation and Control System
Generator & Unit Transformer
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Any other responsibilities that may be required, in the interests of the Company from time to time

Learning Outcomes:

Industry Knowledge: Allowing participants to gain practical experience and a deeper understanding of the power plant / electrical industry. This includes learning about different roles and responsibilities within the industry, understanding the current trends and challenges, and becoming familiar with industry-specific terminology and practices.

Networking: Providing networking opportunities that can help participants build connections with professionals in their field.

Professionalism and Workplace Etiquette: Offering a real-world experience of working in a professional setting, allowing development of essential workplace skills, such as time management, teamwork, effective communication, workplace etiquette, appropriate behavior, dress code, and workplace norms.

Confidence and Self-Esteem: Gaining confidence and building self-esteem in their abilities. This enables overcoming challenges and adapting to new situations more effectively.

Collaboration: Providing opportunities for participants to work with diverse technical teams, understanding the differences of operation & maintenance of a power plant.

Personal and Professional Growth: Developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Enabling a greater sense of personal responsibility and resilience, becoming more adaptable and proactive in their approach to challenges.

Career Exploration: Allowing participants to assess their interest and aptitude for a particular field or industry. Determined if the chosen career path is aligned with their passion and skills.
