NUR Power proudly inaugurated its new 90MW Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) power plant, Project Aurora, a significant step forward in enhancing energy capacity and reliability at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP). The launch was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, together with Kedah Chief Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
Project Aurora marks a proud moment for NUR Power — expanding the park’s high-quality power supply to support rising demand in one of Malaysia’s most advanced industrial zones.
The event also witnessed a strategic milestone for the company, with the announcement of UEM Lestra Berhad acquiring up to a 51% stake in NUR Power. This partnership signals a new chapter of growth, collaboration, and continued leadership in the country’s energy transformation journey.
